ABOUT

We are a Community Interest Company (CIC) because we want to help our community. We have several social objectives that we want to achieve, to bring our community closer together.
 
Grandad’s aims:

  • Provide a place where all the Community can come together

  • Build a cohesive, understanding, safe and caring Community in Bognor Regis and beyond

  • Help those in need in our Community by offering space, time, furniture, food and more

  • Improve the confidence, self-esteem and empowerment of individuals in our Community

  • Inspire people to help others in the same way we have helped them

  • Be environmentally conscious and reduce waste

Who is Grandad?
Grandad was a man who would help anyone at any time, inspiring us to do the same. He died helping a lady to carry her shopping up a hill. And although he is now gone, his memory lives on at Grandads Front Room.​

Why is our work so important to us?


We’re passionate about bringing positive change and hope to those that struggle. Our work is important because:

  • We believe Community is at the centre of every happy, cohesive and safe town

  • We want to have a positive effect on our Community for the good of us all 

  • The 2015 Indices of Deprivation show that in most areas across Bognor Regis, the proportion of the population experiencing deprivation related to low income exceeds the national average of 14.5% and far exceeds the West Sussex average of 9.7%

  • Announced as one of the top 100 Small Businesses in the UK out of 55,000 by the Small Business Saturday organisation.

  • National winner of the Small Business BIG Heart Award 2019

  • Special Recognition Award by High Sheriff of West Sussex 2020
